QWEL GRAYWATER for Professionals Course – January 2015

  • Client – Marin County 

  • Location – Marin County, CA 

  • Duration – grant period November 2014 – July 2015 

  • Role in the Project - WaterNow / Trust for Conservation Innovation was Lead on this project;

    • Developed the course curriculum with the help of sub-contractors;

    • Conducted marketing and outreach to fill all available class seats;

    • Secured the classroom facility;

    • Hosted the 4-day course including one on-site hands-on day;

    • Secured and permitted the demonstration site;

    • Worked with local Building Department staff to streamline the County permitting process

    • Developed tools to ease the permitting process;

    • Proctored and graded the QWEL examination; 

    • Conducted follow-up and tracking of graduates;

    • Connected homeowners interested in installing a graywater system with class graduates, arranged for site visits and site evaluations between homeowner, class graduates, and graywater instructor
